4 January LoCI PIT Team Gives Food Baskets to Community January 4, 2018 By ODRC Institutions, London Correctional Institution (LoCI) LoCI, Public Information Team, Women in Corrections, Offender Groups, Madison County Job and Family Services, Barack Community Center 0 The London Correctional Institution Public Information Team raised money throughout the year to provide meals for 60 families in the London community. The LoCI Public Information Team has been giving back to the community since 2004. We started initially by providing meals to five local families and through the generosity of our staff, we are now able to provide for 60 families. At an average family size of four, this has impacted over 340 people in our local community. London Correctional Institution employees donated turkeys to the families. In addition, money has been raised through fundraisers as well as donations from Women in Corrections and Inmate Groups. We work closely with the Madison County Job and Family Services in providing us with the families who could benefit from the meals. The LoCI Public Information Team members purchase the items and pack the items ready for delivery. Each person is given enough to provide a full meal. We also provided meals for 25 people at the Barack Community Center in Columbus. In conjunction with the Women in Correction Leadership local group, we also provided various hygiene items for people less fortunate. We look forward to continuing our service to our community throughout the upcoming years.
